Hi -

I just purchased a Tascam MK424ii for doing acapella recording at home, and now I need a microphone. I would like to buy a condenser mic, but the issue is the phantom power. The 424 has a TRIM control on each channel for setting the amount of preamplification added to the mic signal. Can someone please tell me if this is the same as phantom power, or will I need an external power supply?

The mic I am interested in buying is a CAD GXL2200.

Thanks,

David

The 424mkII does not have phantom power. I'd recommend you look at purchasing an external preamp with phantom power--the 424 doesn't have very good preamps anyway.
