*runs off to setup a 16 day non-stop gig.*

*gets into record books*

*laughs at all previous, 15 day attempts.*

 :D

i have to agree with the suggestion of putting on some smaller gigs first - to me even a whole day sounds like a hell of a long time, but i don't have much patience when it comes to organising/communicating in general.

Andy :)

Is there a KunkleTOWN? This is just Kunkle - out by Dallas.

Aw man, the two are 64 miles apart... I don't believe they used the word "Kunkle" in a town's name, let alone two...

Yeah, bands aren't going to want to waste the time to come and set up to play a free show, let alone if there is no one there, and you won't find people stickin around for long, let alone for days... Hell, even at shows put on by bands I LOVE, I get tired/bored and want to leave after 2+ hours...

Not to crush the dreams of the innocent... its good to see you are looking at this objectively from the get-go :)

As far as the size, you could probably find someplace to hold this thing... and perhaps there are that many bands around who would play... if not for anything more than just being involved in the longest jam dealie ever... and could the bands play multiple times, or does the record require that each performance be unique? Some groups might be willing to play on multiple days... the bigger issue I could see is that not too many people are going to want to perform at 10am on Tuesday (you get the idea) :)

Blasphemy!

there a pretty successful band from Canada. they just cleaned up at the juno's. ive seen them live and they put on a damn good show.

but ya....you have no chance man.

im going to a 2 hour show in a club in a small city tonight, and ive had a peek into what it takes to put on something like that.

i rather go through university math and try and be an astronaut than tackle that job.

sorry man.

PS

i cracked up at the waynes world joke!

By "pretty successful" you mean they are known by a handful of people outside their home town?

I think we have a slightly different opinion of what "pretty successful" means lol.

I would say "pretty successful" is when a major label lets the band make a second album on the cheap before they get dropped because they found every single fan they are ever going to have...and to the label it ain't enough, but they are vested so they will milk it for what its worth. :D

The other kind that I think you are speaking of we commonly call "underground". ...which is a polite way of saying only about 50-100 people in any given town think the band is any good, and some of those people may have actually come to see another band on the ticket. It should be noted that lots of bands claim to be underground but they are actually just "garage bands".

EDIT: sorry, not arena's right now. they were on a tour earlier this year, going through the air canada center, saddledome etc. right now theyre touring internationally.
