im a musician wanting to record 3 peice i sing and play guitar, then base and drums

does anyone know what vocal, drum and intrument mics i should use?

i currently use a shure 57 through a us-122 by tascam to get half decent quality for guitar and vocal tracks (cool edit pro 2), i have an ibanez toneblaster with a ibanez 412 cab, american strat

i see the interfaces and soundcards, mixers at www.newsoundcard.com
i was wondering if there are any gu-ru jazzy motherfuckers out there that would have any suggestions to me, i live on this small island in canada its a province/ and there's nothign to do but smoke weed drink and play guitar, undeveloped you see.

i need new recording stuff and i want what will sound best for vocals guitar and bass. i have cool edit pro 2 and a shit load of plu-ins. im thinking 4 or 5 xlr port interface, but is there a mixer that will record into the computer and do live shit too?

I am building a huge studio and spending lots on sound isolation products, whats the best band for my bucks for all mics for recording and live, recording deives and or mixers, what do i need? god bless the word of aid to me.

alexander.

thank you for you patience

There's a forum on this board for each of the components you're interested in.

Start out in the Computer Recording and Soundcard forum ro answer your computer questions.

Use the search engine as necessary. You'll learn a ton of stuff along the way. Good luck.

It it's just you recording, not sure why "huge" is needed.

As Phyl said, there are many resources on this board for the different things you reference.

My preference is to record using dedicated multi-track recorders and then do mixing on the PC.

Guitar are bass are easy. Drums are much harder as multiple mics are needed. Vocals are usually inbetween in difficulty.

Most digital recorders will produce great sound if the source and mics are good.
