I own a Korg Triton and I'd like to hook it up to my computer so that I can set it up to use a software sequencer. I need to know exactly what I need in order to do this. Are there any special wires, interfaces, or anything else that I would need?

Up to this point, I've been using the sequencer on the Triton, but it certainly has its limits. For one thing, it can only play 16 different instruments at once corresponding to the 16 tracks on the sequencer. If I set it up to the computer sequencer, will I be able to play more than 16 instruments at one time?

Thanks a lot. Bear with me, I'm a real newbie and I'm clueless when it comes to technical jargon, so please try to keep it simple. Thanks again.

Yes, you will be able to play more than 16 tracks at a time (The number of track you'll be able to play simultaneously depends on your computer's power).

All you need is a soundcard that has MIDI capabilities. You would then plug the MIDI cables from the Triton MIDI out to the computer's MIDI in and vice-versa.

Hope I helped a bit,

What are the specs on your computer?

Which computer sequencer are you going to use?
