hi. i would like to start recording/making music on my pc. i have no clue where to start on this. could anyone tell any good recording program and good music programs. looking to make music like tim hecker/ben frost/fennez. dark distorted drone. thanx in advance.

Try Tracktion3 for recording audio and midi. Its the best music program for configuring the computer's internal sound card or for external sound cards. If you want to record multiple audio channels or just for better latency figures, you might want a good external sound card such as from M-Audio.
