Well, there are MANY PC programs out there for recording AND many are very good.
There are a few SIABoxes out there. The "Studio in a Box" is really a smaller version of a PC program. Only things are: smaller screen, less ability to edit, and, of course, a multitude of "plug-ins," not available for the SIAB.
You would want to get a 12/16 track SIAB as there are some good deals out there.
If you are a PC GURU, then you would have to look at your options with a PC program.
There are pros and cons about either unit; I won't go into that. You can research it and get your own view. However, if you can get to a vendor and get your digits on some PC units and a couple of the SIAB units, you might be better able to make a choice.
I like the SIAB; it will seldon crash; however, some of the newer PC systems seem to be very, very good. Read, ask, look, listen, TRY and then BUY.
