Anyone mix to computer? I thought about it a bit ago, and was just reminded of it. A really nice sound card is on the way but I want to know what you think or do..

sounds good to me... i wanna help you more but you should be more specific with what your planning on doing...

I sometimes mix to PC now using a crappy SIIG sound card (I think it cost $30 ... don't kill me you guys! :) ). The quality is marginal for what I need, so there's no way it will work for CD production.
I'm thinking of getting a Frontier Design WaveCenter/PCI card in the near future.

My hope is that this will provide a digital link to record into my PC so I can mix into it (probably using SoundForge 4.5) and then use some software to just perform some basic mastering tasks (any ideas for software?).
I'm also thinking of trading my stand-alone Tascam CDR5000 CD Recorder for a PC based CDR unit. It seems that the flexibility gained by such a unit with CD authoring software may be worth it. The Tascam is a little hard to deal with anyway.

Anyway, sorry I'm not 'doing' anything yet ... but this is what I'm thinking for now. Let me know if I'm full of it. :)

Thanks
