Thanks Bull, As you explained does ?? this condition of out of sync A/D converters exist for all those who are trading wave files across the internet adding they tracks and sending them back / trading to other to do the same. Building a collective recording using different computers at different times and locations??
KId Down, I Can't sell the computers. I recieved them as a freebe and they are be passed on free to others if I can't us them.
Once levels are set we won't be touching them. I fact we haven't changed the setting on the mixer we use at rehearsal in months. Il'll setup the recording computers to boot the recording software all I have to do is name the file and click on record. It'll take Two minutes at the most. I can do it while everybody is tuning-up.
We intend to start with 4-tracks but would like more as the setup and money will allows. A Quartet with keyboardist using several boards can use up a few tracks. Then add a brace of horns when they bother to show up and five vocals. Over time this can be involved. But to start small and cheap, we have no choice.
We haven't recorded live performances Weddings and other type of celebrations. The condition aren't right to get a good recording. We intend to use the recording we make as demo's and to review our rehearsals.
" hey Matt at 2:11 sec are you attempting to add a color note or are you just off key" Some idea's just have be heard objectively to see if they work.
artjoll and dawg; That's a good idea. Where would I get a definitive explaination on how setup a couple soundcards in one machine??
Thanks All for your input. A reality check is always helpful.
