Not sure if this should be posted here or the the gear section... anyway. I use Ntracks to record simply my guitar and vocals. I also play music on line for fun. I am just learning about compression and I like what little I've been able to do in Ntracks which has me thinking I'd like to put a compressor between mic/pickup and my computer so I could add compression when I'm playing live music on line to..... would that take an in line hardware compressor? Would it work? Cost?

BTW.. I connect to my sound card through a little 4 track fostex that I just use as a mixer.... may be a better way to do that to...

Thanks...

Lane, you might want to check out the RNC (Real Nice Compressor). It costs about $175. Most of the guys on this forum that seem to know about gear recommend it highly.

Thanks.... I'll check that out. Was hoping for something cheap, but its worth it to get it right.

Is my thinking correct - is this going to give me some benefit for what I'm trying to do?

Thanks!
