compression?

Hi guys - I convert wav files to MP3 & upload to a website. I noticed other MP3s on the site sound louder/fuller than mine. should I use the mixdown compression preset that cakewalk offers? I tried it once but cdn't tell. Any other ideas? Thanks

A preset might not do it. It would help if you learned how to apply compression to the individual tracks and to the mix to make that happen. There are really too many variables to be able to tell you what you need to do without hearing it.
