Compression settings on JoeMeek MQ3?!?!

I know I should just play around with it to find out a good compression for what I am recording but I would like a "starting" point, just a general setting that you JoeMeek users use as a "starting" point. For vocals, acoustic guitar (if any), bass guitar, etc.... I see the three knobs and I have no idea where to start from, lol....I'm such a newb.
 
Did you check the users manual....my VC3Q manual had a few "general setting" suggestions for vocal, bass, guitar, whatever.....
 
Yeah Gidge I did, but for some reason the settings seem to be "too much" compression and I really have no idea what knobs to turn to get the compression to mellow out a little bit. I know what knobs the compressor uses, just not sure what to do with them... ;)
