compander rack effects compander phaser

Who makes a compander pedal or rack unit that has a send/return

so i can put a phaser or flanger with a compander or a compander phaser or compander flanger?
 
Try the EM-Wolb unit. I forget the actual model number, which you need to actually find it, but I'll bet if you ask about EM-Wolb over on Gearslutz, they'll be able to help you out with that just fine.

He doesn't ACTUALLY want to combine them. walters is more of a theoretical recording engineer.

You don't think he's actually applying any of the things he learns here in a real world application, do you?

Think about it Comp and ander. I would believe it to be compressor and expander.

What is so crazy about wanting to use it with a phaser or flanger. I would think if would be a matter of musical taste. Not the VanFord book of knowledge. :D

Have you ever used a compander? Seriously. I have used them for YEARS on Yamaha digital consoles.

Regardless. There is absolutely no REASON to combine a phaser/flanger with a compander. Musical taste or not, there is little sense in it.

I thought a compander squashed down the waveform and then processes the signal and then re-expands the waveform

This squashing and re-expanding the waveform is companding right??

Companding pushes the noise floor down.

DON'T COME BACK AND ASK WHAT A NOISE FLOOR IS. PLEASE.
 
Compander circuit is
1.) a compressor at the input it squashes the waveform down raising the noise floor?
2.) then goes to the effects processor chip
3.) then goes to the expander section which expands the waveform back unsqueezing it pushing the noise floor back down?
