man, I don't even wanna say anything about this mix! :D

I will say this though, it's been one of the weirder experiences I've had. The band brings in a guy called Ted Blake. Just to switch up flavors a bit. No one special, but very spazzy, but in a cool way. I think his type of energy reflected in this song (compared to the ones I produced alone). So when you hear the song, imagine some spazzed out old guy with F'ed up/nappy hair yelling, "NO NO NO NO! I WANT MORE MEAT AND POTATOES! YOU GUYS ARE GIVING ME BROCOLI!!".

Haha, anyway, check it out, the song is called "Waste Some Time".

Its definitly got a grittier/Lo-Fi thing going on, which I like.

Well, that certainly has plenty of meat and potatoes!

Pretty wild. I didn't get bored. I had to listen to your next song "Perfect Romance" to see what you normally sound like coz I have nothing to compare this one too. And I have to say, I like "Romance" better. Probably an age thing. "Romance" has more stability, which is good for us types reaching that half-dead age.

I think I'd like to be that nappy-haired guy.

I haven't really said much, have I? But I have said something :) And that's gotta be something! Thanks for that wild ride.

thanks for the comments :)

Yeah it was definitly a pleasure working with that guy. Just seeing him spaz out was funny but he jolted the swing of things in a good way. It even inspired me to approach the mixing a different way.

As a young producer, it does give me exposure to different styles of producing.

And although I could never be that spazzy, maybe if I drink enough red bulls, I can hope to achieve that same effect....when appropiate. :D

Again, thanks for the comments.

There is a little eccentric energy in some spots.
The guitar glisses are over done though.
I think it could have much more as you described. I had images of Faith No More. In fact it could do with a little FNM jolt in some of the rhythm.
Good to work with someone who uses a different mO or perspective isn't it.
I actually like your usual MO better.

nice man...thanks for the honest comments. It always helps me to get honest feedback from someone other than myself. Faith No More, that's definitly a new direction! But I don't think of that as a bad thing :D

I guess I'm in that waiting period with the rough mix to see how it grows on me. Sometimes it takes me a while to really get a a good feel for rearranging a part or parts.

cool man :D

I liked this a lot, nice change up, came as a surprise, always a plus. Good recording too. Thanks for the listen.

I think Ted is lookin for more cowbell :D

That's Lo/fi? As far as Homerecording goes?

I guess everything is relative.

Sounds pretty damn good to me.

Personally, I would have liked more broccoli though.

Cause he puts his pants on, one leg at a time. :D

Now a gold record would be nice. (Of course not my motivation though) :D!

haha, I think personally he threw in a few steaks, just as long as that comes without lemons. :D

Thinking about it, it's probably not as gritty as I thought. Maybe it's just the way the drums had ended up sounding that I might of said that. That "sloppy" reverberated sound I guess.

Really good mix. Clear parts, rich sound, lots of variety in timbres - for instance the difference between the L and R gtrs, yet balanced. The vocal delay at the closing on "time" seemed to me a little over emphasized.
