Hey Gerry, yeah I loved this tune! Remember it... ZZtop with Clapton singing :cool: I have to agree with the rock stars above about the boomyness still. Maybe this a bad solution, but maybe just try dropping the midrange on either the whole mix or a few instruments until its gone... like just playing it on winamp and messing with the whole mix EQ on there helped a bit... anyway just something to try. Thanks SnakeDog.....I sat down this afternoon and totally remixed this track.

I think it's sounding more to my liking now. I seem to have the punch in the bass without the rumble that was washing over the mix before.

I rolled off the bass/low mid on the guitars leaving them fairly crunchy.

I put a high pass on the bass and turned up the definition in the 450 Hz range.

I also upped the vocals a tad as they weren't cutting through and you couldn't hear the reverb as much as you normally do.

I'm happy with the monitor mix but I'm still getting used to my truck sound (new speakers) although I think I getting a feel for them.

If anyone can listen, let me know if this is a good mix. :D

Sounds good Gerry. Then again, it sounded good before!:D Yeah, it seems a little crisper overall, everything is nice and clear. I am listening on headphones.

Hey Gerry, enjoying this again... definitely lost most of the boomyness I was hearing before. I'm digging the mix loud on my surround system... good work :D

Much sweeter - the string squeak seems to have come up with the brightness but that's cool - it sounds real.
Excellent song - I concurr with SnakeDog5050's cross references except it sounds better than that combo and they'd have trouble coming up with SUCH A GREAT SONG!
Your mixing skills really have made terrific progress - a lift equal to the sound quality jump when you started mic'ing that amp - I think one of the things that stands out is how the drum track fits so well with the rest of the track.
