Wtf is a PRS
Hey i was just wondering if anyone has ever done a collaboration effort with someone online and had it work out positivley?

I only ask becasue i had an attempt at an online collaboration go very sour a few years ago. Needless to say my share of the work was warmly received and then i heard nothing back from the other guy after i sent it out. Literally nothing? So im sure it went somewheres, never heard it pop up anywheres but anyways.

I also ask becasue i think i will soon be moving forward with some solo stuff, but will need some likeminded individual with a knack fro drum programming or even better real drumming or even better still mulit talented!

I am however reluctant after my last go round with this to even attempt this sort of thing. But, i think it could be cool with the right individuals.

And if i were looking to find people where would i post this sort of thing?

Myspace is out of the question hahaha...

This is a good place to start. You can try the MP3 clinic and Drum forum also. Drummers are a premium item so don't be disappointed if it takes a while to find one....

Good luck with your collab.

PS - I see you're from Kingston... I lived in Halifax from 71-81 and my family still reside there. Good to see a Nova Scotian on the forum!

I think Dave mentioned that idea as a possible future challenge, so stay tuned.

I would enjoy collaborating with quite a few folks online, including in this group, but I am trying to develop my engineering/recording skills to the point that I can hold up my side of the equation in a fair way first. To that end, I think I may try to connect with a few local home recorders, just to improve my mixing and production skills. I am one to "read the manual", but nothing replaces seeing a highly-skilled person's methodology in person.

Cheers,
Joseph

HA! yea. unfortunately I am in Grande Prairie Alberta now. Got here last year. I miss it like crazy. I still have salt in my blood for sure. But we made a trip to the mountains last weekend so that was a good tide me over till i can get home and soak in the ocean.

But none the less, i know that drummers are a hot commodity. But until i can find one i think i'll stick to fruity loops  Also pondered the thought of just learning to play them myself.

I dont know which would be worse haha...

We will see how it goes?

I collaborated with some guys here on a song I wrote for my wife. It worked out really well. All I did was the vox and the original scratch track recording. antichef did the acoustic guitar, chilli laid down a bassline and bent rabbit laid down the drum tracks. It was a great experience and a lot of fun.
