Very cool. One of these days I'll get out of this rented place and be able to put some time and money into a project like that. :) I'd do it here (renting a house with someone else) but I'd hate to lose it all when I moved out at some point in the future.

Sorry the pictures are so crappy looking. I'll get to work on some nicer ones. I hope the files weren't too big.

Yeah, the important thing is to make sure the heater is off when recording. Otherwise you'll get sweat on the mic!

I thought that's how you'd warm up those cold digital tracks.:D
Nice rig my friend.

Argh... looked at the wrong link off the site... My comments made no sense. :) Still a cool setup you have there, of course. I always wanted a reel-to-reel deck but never had the money to get anything like that until recently, so I'm going the host based digital route instead of analog. Maybe when I get a place I can put a studio... ah dreams... hehe

Thanks guys! Yeah, the MSR-16 is great. If I could just figure out how to sync it with my computer...I'd be set! Well, at least for now.

Get the puter to sync to the tape deck is the way to go :):)

cheers
john

At the bottom of the page CMiller has this to say: "If you have any questions, feel free to ask."

Mark (CMiller)

I'm paraphrasing of course, but here's the question. How can you be Mark and CMiller at the same time?

I have a theory. Your first name's Chris. Your second name's Mark, and that's what everyone calls you. Your family name's Iller.

Do I get a prize?

Nice studio. My favourite's the sauna cum iso booth. Reminds me a bit of my studio. I call my studio Sauna Studio. Guess why. Not as difficult as figuring out your nick.

Yeah, I'd love to get them synced, but I can't figure it out. I bought a Tascam MTS-30 tape sync unit from Ebay, but I can't get them to follow eachother. I striped the tape, but in Cubase, it won't allow me to choose a tape speed low enough for Cubase to follow. Am I screwed? Do you know?

Hey Dobro! The "if you have any questions" thing was actually my ending salutation at the bottom of my email to John, but he threw it in there anyway! Kind of a funny accident. So in other words...no, you can't ask me any questions.:D

Actually, the name really isn't that interesting of a story. In fact, its kind of dumb. No worries...I'm not the "future of rock" or anything like that!
