Closet as Iso Booth?

I'm hoping to turn the closet of my office/studio into an isolation booth where I can record vocals and mic an amp.

I have one of the new G4's in my "studio" and it's very loud ... so my only hope is soundproofing that closet. My question is this: Will recording in such a small space be a problem?

I plan to cover the walls with either foam or moving blankets ... and I'm going to make sure the door closes tight. Any other suggestions for soundproofing?

What's the best way to run the mic cord(s) out? And how important is a window?

a window is good to have but not a need... just make sure you have little talk back mic, even if you cop a sm-57 look a like at radio shack.. its good enough for talk back if your console doesn't have a talk back...

a closet.. depending on how large the closet is.. mine is about 8x6 maybe 8x7.. so i use a closet as a iso booth..

as for soundproofing, you know it takes a lot of mass for soundproofing.. but decent sound isolation.. yes...
i'd look into using carpet padding... at your local carpet store or home depot.. you'd spend about $50-200 depending on how large your closet is, and how many layers you use, it works wonders..

maybe you might wanna build a little cabinet for your g4..would cost about $30-60 to do so..get some decent wood or get some mdf(home depot), build a square around the g4..keep the back open a little for air flow and wires.. get a bracket so you could have the front of it a door..then cover the inside and outside with acoustic tiles or capet padding...
i'm about to do this... i made a decent little design.
