close to releasing - need advice

Hello ... I have about 10 or 11 songs that I am about ready to release... problem is that they are not mixed or mastered!! ... I feel like I have a totally mixed bag of music that needs that magic touch applied. Something to make them sound somewhat similar, all the same volume levels, and cd-ready

Some songs are sequenced, some are live, and many have been recorded at different studios...

where do I go from here? hire someone to mix and master?

Well, you could try and mix/master them yourself, but if you're not experienced and just want your CD ready for release, and want it to be as good as possible, I would probably just hire a professional.

mixing CAN be done pretty decently by anyone with a little expirience. Mastering in my opinion can't. Especially when it comes to maximizing volume.
