Massive Master www.massivemastering.com Aug 9, 2006 #3 If you're even close to clipping, you're probably up around 20dB too loud. You dont' want to "not clip" - You want to have headroom - You want to be WAAAAAAY below clipping. 0dBVU is NOT THE SAME as -0dBFS.

Farview Well-known member Aug 18, 2006 #5 The gain control on the preamp is what you use to set the recording levels. That's what it's for. If you are clipping, turn down the gain on the preap until you are nowhere near clipping.
