(1) Pray.
(2) Try rolling off the low end - Clipping usually sounds like high-end, but the energy is often extremely low - Keep in mind that a clip is a square wave at whatever the frequency of the clips are - Usually no more than 30 or 40 per second unless it's pretty extreme. Rolling off at 50 or 60Hz can make it at least "less irritating" but it hardly makes it "pleasant."
Then, if you can sweep a parametric across the highs, sometimes you can "soften" the crackle a bit with a notch filter.
For the most part, these are just band-aids... Clipping isn't going to go away for the most part.
