hey y'all. im having some problems mixing this song that ive never had b4. the tracks are as follows.

1. Acoustic Bass Drum
2. Electric Snare
3. Seashore
4. Ocarina
5. Acoustic Bass
6. String Ensemble
7. Acoustic Guitar (Nylon)

when i move certain faders even to -INF, i can still hear them. i turn the santa cruz master fader up a bit, left and right grouped, in PA9, and it clips. basically it's clipping with hardly any noise at all. The ocarina part is pretty thick, and that was clipping when played in combo with the electric snare earlier. should i adjust frequencies on an equalizer or what. thats another thing, my computer makes the digital audio skip when i add a graphic equalizer, but not on a parametric or paragraphic. im just really confused, but ive heard on editing frequencies that conflict, im just not sure how. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the gain set correctly? Don't have anything way up or way down in the singnal chan or you'll get noise or peak.

Sounds like you might have one or more effects loops cranked up to high, or the effect in the loop itself.

Good luck!

What does it do when ALL the faders are down?

What mixer do you have?

How hot was everything recorded? How are you playing it back? What recording device?

Maybe there's some crosstalk going on...

it wasn't any more hot than other tracks ive recorded the same way. the chain for this recording is internal synth on Santa Cruz to dig audio. i think it is crosstalk. when i solo a track individually and turn the fader down, it is muted, but when they all play, it doesn't go the whole way down. the only effect is on the Acoustic Bass Drum, a parametric EQ, track 1. and everything is bussed to aux 1, with Izotope Vinyl as the effect. ill check cloneboy's suggestion to turn all down. post back in a few.

Are you sure the settings in the vinyl plug aren't giving you the distortion?

Are you clipping the buss? If everything is going to that I'd suspect overloading the buss or as suggested above the plugin may be getting overloaded... or it just sucks.
