I'm just automating a few channels, but I'm getting some clicks and few pops on playback. They dont happen when I dont automate. Any suggestions?

If I increase the latency would that realistically effect the response time when I flick the fader on the bfc2000?

Heres my setup:
cubase sx3 - firepod 44.1k 8ms - bcf2000 usb - winxp - p4 3.6ghz 1gb ram moderate HD space.

thanks!
Josh

You might want to consider getting another hard drive for your audio files. The clicks and pops generally are caused by interrupts to your drive while it is reading and writing and processing all the requests by the software running off it.

Is the extra noise happening on fades? Or is it happening when turning on and off processing like plugins and such? Does it happen on playback as well as during the live writing of the automation? Do the clicks and pops happen in teh same place everytime you hit play? Or is it different on each pass? These are a few questions that may help to narrow down the issue:)

The audio is on a separate 7200rpm drive.

It clicks around when the faders move during playback when the bfc2000 is running and the faders are moving. No pops or clicks any other time. I might try using a separate usb channel. since I have the computers keyboard/mouse plugged into the same hub as the bcf2000.
