Clicking mic problem?

Ok, I've run into a problem with Cakewalk Sonar Producer's Edition 4.0 When I arm for recording and start recording theres a lot of clicking/popping messing up the sound. I have tried several mics, it does it to them all. Also, when I use other programs, i don't have this problem. Anyone know whats wrong with the program?

Without more information, my guess would be you are trying to run at too low a latency setting for your resources.

You can try raising your latency (Options> Audio) and see if that helps. You can also using a different driver mode (Options > Audio > Advanced). Usually switching to MME drivers will help - but it also gives you the highest latency.

If none of that works, give us some details. What CPU, memory, sound card, driver mode, etc.

I've got an HP with a pentium 4 2.53Ghz with 512MB Ram and the "stock" sound card. Hasn't ever given me problems until now... I will try those suggestions though, hopefully it works! *fingers crossed*
