Click/Skipping Problem

I just began learning SONAR, I go import an Audio (mp3) and the thing starts to click/skip. Its like it cuts on and off rapidly. I was told this is a latency problem? But I am not sure. Any solutions form e? I have no midi controllers, mixer, or anything hooked up. I just imported and audio.

Please describe your computer, speed, RAM size and Operating system. And your soundcard.

In Options>audio> what are your buffer size settings - try moving the slider to the right which increases latency but eases the load on your system so it stops clicking and skipping. And are you using ASIO or WDM drivers?

This is always a balance of system loading and latency. Any latency less than 10m Secs is acceptable but it will depend on your overall system settings.
