Problem: Loud obnoxious click between cd tracks, but not on wave.

Scenario: -1 recording guitar track (delta 44 into cool edit) -2 eq'ing and compressing, maybe a light hall or chorus effect -3 saving as 16 bit 44100 stereo pcm file -4 burning to cd. windows media player.

Then.... on the cd playback I get clicks in between the tracks. I have gone back to the wave to cut off the ends and beginnings of the silences before and after the wave, and sometimes it works, but this one track I cannot get it to go away.

Help me out and I will send good karma your way.

Thanks.

What burner software are you using?

Some have the option to delete 2 second gaps between audio tracks.

There are some other packages you can download and try. Nero is one. Roxio also makes a package.

You might want to try one of them and see if the same thing results.

I use Roxio and have not seen the problem you reference.

I have a feeling it is the result of something i dont know about digital recording, like speeds or finishing steps, or something relative. Someone on here should know. But thank you.

The steps you outlined is basically what I do as well. I have used both the Nero and Roxio cd software and neither has produced the click sound you mentioned. I have not used the Windows built in cd software.

Nero has a free trial download. Might be worth a try.

Thanks, I have the nero software, I will give it a try. thanks again,

I tryed adding several seconds of silence on the end and I still get this click. I cant get rid of it.

Here is a suggestion. When you come to the end of your song, push the master fader down/off BEFORE you push any shut-off buttons.

This may not work but somehow you are picking up, perhaps, a switch-click? Maybe? Maybe not.

Problems like this are some of the reasons I choose Samplitude Software. CD burner is in the program and it has start points and end points. Another thing, are you puting 14 frames of silence at the front of each song?
