trogdor,
they really are. I've been using them a lot lately, from everything from live gigs, to vocals. and they are working great. Plus, you can't beat the price on them!
Thanks for checking it out!

Yea no problem...I've been considering getting maybe a pair of those babies for drum overheads. I bought the MK-319 large diaphragm condenser a little while back and like it alot! Good value for college kids like me who don't want to break the bank (or already have).

Your friend's playing is first rate but, I am hearing a bit of overload distortion on my end here. Especially on the bass, something just doesn't sound right. Perhaps a poor mp3 transfer?

Cheers! :)

AH Ha!!! I heard him make mistake! Sounds a little bass heavy. Excellent playing the only thing that i noticed is sometimes the delicate treble sting parts are overpowered by the bass part. Mic position I guess... You think?

a treat for sure. I just got a nice little classical guitar, and I'm having fun trying to get mic placement and stuff. the bass strings really come out over the high strings, like this recording. your friend is truely talented. classicals really come accross nice.

TREAT REV 1

Thanks guys....
Ghost and Tjohnston - I changed the eq on the song a little bit, and brought the 80-160 hz down 2.5 db. Take a listen to it and see if that is better. I miced it at the 12th fret, andgled towards the sound hole. I guess, alos, this guitar has a cracked top from his dog stepping on it. That could affect the sound I'm sure.
The new version is at the site and called classic guitar treat (rev1)
the old on is still there for comparrison.
Thnaks, for your time fellas!
Jason

dan, I really like your stuff too by the way!

Wonderful playing - very nice recording - a real treat - as advertised. Is this an original composition?
Kudos and a tip o' the hat!

MC - Thanks for the kind words. It is an original piece, it's actually an intro to a longer version of another song. I'm glad that you think I did a good job with the recording of it. I'm still learning! Thanks to this board, I have made improvements over the last two years. I have some others, so I'll check with him and see if he wants to post more!

Good sound on the guitar, but I wanted it to be fuller somehow. Just louder, I think.

About the panning until the 1.25 mark - why not pan the first guitar center until that point, and then pan the two guitars left and right? It's weird hearing just one instrument come from the left for so long, and unbalanced by anything coming from the right.

I listened to the second version, the one with some of the bottom end EQed down. It's okay, but I can see where it was an issue before - how'd you mic it? Have you tried a highpass rolling off everything south of 82 Hz? 90 Hz even?

What a sweet, fluid player.

I liked it. Segovia would probably roll in his grave...but who gives a hoot?

Maybe have the first guitar centered with a VERY nice stereo room verb surrounding it...putting it in a "space". Then...get electrical and bring the second guitar in Left/Right...split electronically somehow....and a little lower in level.

....then...bring the full kit in...gongs, cymbals...marching band... ya know..the whole works.... !!!!!!

I liked the 2d version better also. Nice tune. Good job Jason.

Ped - Thanks for checking it out Man!

Sam - Thanks

dobro - I went back and checked the tracks, and the first track is centered, with the other two tracks panned 60% left and right. Why you're not hearing it , man I don't know. Thanks for checking it out though.

mixmkr - Who is Segovia?

rpe - Thanks very much!!
