Class Project

Hey everyone,
I am in my second quarter at the Art Institute and have a project where I need to gather together equipment for a recording session in Japan. Here is my topic:

Travel to Japan and record Shakuhachi samples for a virtual instrument library. Two days of recording, portable setup, carnets, talent fees, edit and organize

Any information would be much appreciated, especially on the portable set up. If anyone can help I will be greatly thankful.

Get a good interface, a laptop and a daw that you know how to use. Do you plan on needing more than 2 inputs for any of your sampling? I assume that your sampling right?

Yeah, I am going to be sampling. I was thinking the Sound Device 744T for my recording device.
