I was just over at the kx drivers forum and someone on there claimed that they can record from more than just two inputs. On my card, I have to select which input I am going to record from in the windows control panel (line in 2, auxilary , etc.) Can they do this because of the kx drivers? They claimed they can record 6 channels.

Not a lot of Creative fans here, so you'd probably have better luck with an answer from the people supposedly getting the 6 tracks.

Are the kx drivers ASIO drivers?

If so your tracking software needs to support the use of ASIO drivers to enable multitrack recording

6 channels in
4 channels out
64 bit
192kHz

And Morgan Fairchilds my wife, too.

Yeah, that's the ticket.....

My next question is how do I do this? I have installed the Kx drivers and I can do is require one stereo (or mono) just as I could before.

does anybody know??

I'm bringing up this thread again hoping that someone has some information on the Audigy 2 recording capabilities.

Did you find any more info, dmbpettit ??

I upgraded to the Audigy 2 card when I bought my new Dell computer, but I'm not even convinced it's the same card that
is being featured on the Creative site. (It doesn't look the same and I'm not sure about the specs since no literature specific to the card came with it)

If the card I've got is capable of recording simultaneous tracks, I'd
like to find some documentation/directions.

And if Dell is substituting in a different card as an upgrade, I definitely want to address that!

Any info, links, resources?? Please. Thank you.

I figured out how to do the 6 channel recording. It works really well.

Do you have the audigy with the the front plate for more ins and outs?

thanks for the response, dmbpettit

No, I don't have the front plate. Probably means I can't do it, huh?? Please let me know if there's a way I can make this work.

The more I reseach it, I'm afraid I "upgraded" for nothing. Sounds like Creative may have exaggerated the specs of the Audigy 2.

I'd be happy to get 2-3 simultaneous tracks out of it if possible. Would really help me out budget-wise for starters.

Please tell me what I need to do. Any and all tips are greatly appreciated.

BTW, I sent you a PM about this yesterday.

I'm anxious to figure out if this is an option for me or not.

THANKS!
Kester

Creative lies about their product? Never!

Yeah right...

Actually, Dell was a unclear with specs too

Or I just didn't know the right questions to ask. Once I read some glowing reveiws of the Audigy 2, I thought it would be worth the upgrade since I would be using the computer for sound applications, not realizing that the reviews I read were about a different version of the card than what Dell installs.

Maybe it was my bad for not reading the fine print...oh well...at least I've got something other than a Soundblaster in my PC ;-)

When I get it together to start recording with the Audigy 2 , maybe I'll post something in the mixing clinic so you guys can tell me how bad it sounds ...ha ha.

I'm sure I'll be getting an M-audio or Aardvark or something comparable down the road.
