As others have said, you did an excellent job with this song. That sudden break of total silence near the end: really tight and well done.

My only complaint was the cymbals. It sounded like you might have had a really good, driving beat with them, but they were too splashy and quiet to really tell.

Otherwise, really good job!

Thanx a lot Steve!
I'm working on a second mix...

Cheers

Very good.

Maybe one nit. . .

How about something in the way of ambience on the rhythm gtrs so it doesn't completely suck my ears out when they go away? If you notice it on a casual listen it would be too much, but just less than that would be just enough.

I kind of like the gits to be up close, Scott. Is it the pause before the second chorus that's a problem? Appreciate your listening...:)

Still sounds good.

I find I'm still a little underwhelmed by the cymbals, but I don't know if that could be fixed anyway other than completely re-tracking them A lot of the crashes sound like they should be hi-hat hits instead (especially the driving, quarter-note parts).

I still love that pause near the end. "Oh the songs over... I thought it was longer than that... *wham* oh right! It does keep going. Awesome!" :D

Sounds a lot better right away, much more *together*. Sounds tight. I'd be very interested to hear if you had anything to say about my bands metal track i just posted!

Thanx a lot guys,

the kick and the snare are my my n°1 problem in every song...:o

Steve, the idea with the pause was to give feeling as if you're being sucked into the ground...don't know how to explain it properly...funny how silence can be an effect too :D

Chameliuos, as soon as I get home today, I'll give give your song a listen, promise. I coludn't do anything properly this weekend, cos my Internet connection keeps cutting every few minutes.

Realy appreciate all your comments.

Joe, I really have only 2 words: Steven Slate OR the free solution: Andy Sneap.

I said it a million times, it's prolly my best purchase in the studio.

Hope this helps

Hey Blor007,
thanx for listening in. I use Addictive drums which I find pretty good...which programmes are the ones you mentioned? Before I used Battery 2. I once downloaded Steven Slate samples but they don't work with Battery.

Should I start saving up again? :D

Cheers

Nice. I liked it. Very epic! Vocals remember the guy in earlier Fates Warning albuns (yeah, old school), John Arch ... Congratulations. Guitars in the beginning sounds like queensryche! You know what I mean ... pure metal!

Thanx for the nice coments *g*!
Used to be quite a Queensryche fan around 1990...Geoff Tate had an amazing voice;)
