Hello,
I've been using an Admira's classical guitar for the last two years and thought about upgrading to an acoustic-electric guitar.
I heard the acoustic-electric guitar that Boyce Avenue's band use (look for them on YouTube) and they use these Taylor's guitars: 614ce, 814ce and 914ce and w14ce (the last one is a limited summer/spring edition - i don't remember..).
I really like these guitar's sounds but I can afford it so i was looking for cheaper Taylor's guitar and found 110ce, 114ce, 214ce.
110ce fails becuase of its dreadnought design, I preffer a Grand Auditorium. So i'm left with the 114ce and 214ce.
I really loved the white finish of the 214ce and it comes with hardshell case in place of gig bag.
Both of them are still too expensive for me so please don't suggest me guitar over, lets say $1000.
My main problem is that I don't live in the USA so I'm gonna order it and have it shipped to me so I can't hear their sound (Taylor's distributors in my country don't import these models).
I want to get the sounds that's most similar to Boyce Avenue's sounds. I know it also depends on micing (In the beginning I will record it when it plugs directly into the interface and record with MXL 990 - combination of both of them; that's until I'll afford the M-Audio Pulsar II).

Another thing I wanted to ask - these Taylor's guitars are better than a $270 Fender acoustic-electric guitar, right?
How is this expressed?

Thanks in advance,
Yuval.

Edit: In some online-stores the 214ce called Taylor 214ce and in other stores it's called 214ce-G. Are they the same model? On Taylor's website I could find only the regular 214ce. I thought it's just gloss on the top but I wasn't sure, anyway it doesn't affect anything like sound, does it? If it's not the same, what's the difference?
