Seems to me like Ghost was a response to Mackies 8bus and then Midas created Venice to be on the market... I don't want that!!
I rather spend my money on Allen ˛heath or Neve Api or something!

The Midas may have come on the market after the 8-bus, but the design is all Midas, and they are THE most respected name in live consoles. Their pre-amps, along with Neve, API, Amek, and the old Trident stuff, are the gold standards in musical pre-amps. While the Venice EQ is not as versatile as on an XL4, it is absolutely better than anything Mackie has ever produced. For starters, unlike a Mackie, they actually work, which is something I would never say about Mackie EQ. The summing amps actually have enough headroom to be useful. And the pre-amps are based on the pre-amps for the XL 4, which is their top of the line. For the money (and it does cost more money), you can not get better, although Crest has some boards which are only 3-4 times the cost of a Venice, and which would be killer as well, though more scientific than the very musical Midas. But I frequently prefer the cleanliness of the
Crest consoles. Nice stuff.
Sure, an API would be better, and a Neve even better still, for what you are doing. The thing is, you don't have a budget of $100,000 or more to build your studio. You need to work within the budget you have.
