Hey gang!

Yet another fun group-participation thread! Got any children's music recorded? Covers or original..

Here are three that my father-in-law and I recorded... What do ya think?

The Ladybug and the Centipede

I'm Being Eaten by a Boa Constrictor

The Slithery D

All well done and recorded. It takes a real good imagination and vocab to put together children's songs and these are right on!
The banjo is perfect in these songs - gives it a real flavour.
Centipede - a fun song. I especially like the hey ho part that starts and stops witht he keyboard? - very expressive. I also like the lyrics about being the best hugger and the cold feet :D :D
Boa Constrictor - good job transforming a classic into a song - GULP!
Slithery D - not sure what that

:) Thanks! Slithery D is exactly as intended. Pay attention to the lyric... :)

Llarion...I don't know much about mainstream children's music (I have caught the Wiggles while channel surfing and your music makes me think of them)...I did like the most of the performance and mix of the songs a lot (i.e. volume levels and EQ). I like the way the vocal would rise in places in the Ladybug song, but (this is being a bit picky) sometimes the Ladybug song seemed just a tad loose as far as timing (maybe that is okay though, for this type of music). The Slithery D and the Boa Constrictor songs seem to be a little on the dark side but maybe songs like that help kids deal with their fears.

I have a song that I think can be classified as children's music...it is not as whimsical as your songs...it is closer to a lullaby...I had it in the mixing clinic a couple of months ago but I have continued to tweak it and try to make it sound better...it was written about my friend's two year old daughter and it is called "Mandy":

Good tune - definitely a lullaby-type song, relaxing and mellow. Nicely done.... :D

The Boa Constrictor one is an adaptation of a Shel Silverstein poem, if memory serves... The other two are classic folk ditties.. I think it's OK for kids to be explosed to dark stuff of this order... I mean; if you want some of the darkest literature ever, try reading Grimm's Fairy Tales... :)

I can't listen at work, but I'll catch your tune at home... :)
