Chicago Mic Store Recommendations

Could someone recommend a store in Chicago that is likely to sell me an MCA SP1 in person? I live in New Zealand (where we are generally charged 2-3x what you would pay in america for this sort of stuff, it sucks!), but I will be in Chicago for a little over a week in early August. Not really staying long enough to guarantee that it will turn up in time by mail order, but long enough that I should be able to go to a store and buy one in person.
Any recommendations? My hotel is right in the middle of town as far as I can tell (East Wacker Drive), so bonus points if the store is not too far away. I've had a look on google but I couldn't find anything.
 
Real estate might be a little steep there for a lowly mic peddler.

Okay, so no bonus points then! I know nothing about the city sorry. I didn't realise the area was that flash, luckily I'm not paying for the hotel myself.
So how far would I have to go?

:eek: Ok well it looks like that plan has been blown out of the water!
I might have to see if I can order it now and get the hotel to hold it for me. Don't like my chances too much though.

Hi,

I ordered mine from PSSL and I think they still have some. I am sure they will work with you to get the mic into Chicago at the right time frame.

I have a post on here somewhere about a grounding problem that I fixed myself. Other than that the mics are great. Very clean. You will be pleased.

Thanks, I think that's my best option. I have heard very good things about them, I'm always up for a bargain.

The best advice is to contact the Guitar Center in Chicago as they are MXL dealers. If they don't have them in stock, you can probably order it (from another Guitar Center for fastest delivery) and pay by credit card. Then you can pick it up in person. If they can find one in their system, it would take 2 days tops for it to arrive to them.
