Hey, I totally forgot about this. This is a guy I met on a local music website. We never met in person, but he needed drum tracks, so I did these 2 for him last year some time. We passed the tracks back and forth by e-mail. But this isn't about my drumming. This guys is 22 years old and plays guitar. There are 2 tunes on his page. I prefer the second one, "My Angel", but they're both good. There's no doubt he loves Jimi, and he doesn't try to hide that. I just think it's worth sharing. He's great, especially for his age.

Thanx Dog (for listening, I mean)...I think the dude's a major talent and still very young. It's nice to see younger musicians aprreciating and digging music from before they were born.
 
It's all really good.... Except for the vocals. Scratch that - the vocals are good, but not as good as the guitar.


Or the drums. :D
 
Weird effects on the drums? You mean the flange? Yeah, I think that's an "Axis:Bold as Love" thing. It's actually pretty cool.

Supercreep. You're right, he's not a singer. It's about his guitar playing.
 
This dude's awesome for his age. And actually just awesome period. His singing is no worse than Jimi's either. Cool shite.

As far as the "weird drum effects", they are exactly what Jimi does on "Axis". It's fine.
 
Yep, I'm impressed! I love that hendrix style going on. In the angel song the effect on the drums sounds cool to me. The songs have a good groove to them.
 
Yeah...I think NL5 was just trying to give me a jab because he knows I played drums on them. It's not about my mediocre sounding drum tracks, though...so that's ok.
 
really cool, the song was really kicking, gives me an early santana vibe.
the song angel did also show some exelent guitar.

Hah! Wow, he got the period sound down! Quite a nice homage to Jimi, he's a real fan. Vox style is a bit juxtaposed, but it's OK, just enjoy the fretwork. ANd I agree, it's great that kids are embracing "oldies". We never used to.. I saw the Littel League World Series last night, and there's 12 year olds that have AC/DC as their favorite band. I hate em, myself, but you gotta love that; that music has gotten mroe timeless.

No - I like I said, everything sounded great to me, but I thought the flange effect was a bit much - I didn't read the little blurb he put on soundclick that said he was imitating a "style". Besides, it seems I'm the only one that didn't care for it.

Excellent playing all around. :D
