Hey guys, It's a while since I posted anything new, but I've recorded quite a few things recently.

Firstly check out my bands Myspace pages:

http://www.myspace.com/thedamageroom (rock covers band with some decent quality recordings! :) )
These tracks were recorded at our ex bassist's home studio which is excellent.
I used his Premier series maple kit which is also excellent!

http://www.myspace.com/ledastrayuk (Led Zep tribute act with some poor quality clips recorded on minidisc! ;) ) Most of this stuff was just recorded at our rehearsals using a Sony minidisc recorder. The two live tracks were recorded at our first gig a few weeks ago. Haven't yet recorded a decent quality demo but will be doing that very soon!

And here's another link where you can hear some of my solos, etc:

Most of this stuff was recorded with my Pearl kit:
Pearl Masters MMX 8,10,12,14,15,22 and my Premier Birch piccolo snare or my Sonor 14x7 maple hilite (you can eaisly tell the difference!) Mics used were AKG C1000 overheards, AKG D112 kick, and Sure SM57 on snare all wired into my brother's Korg D12 recorder.

I also have a Premier artist maple Heavy rock 24 kit which I leave in the rehearsal room. I have just added an 18" floor tom to the setup so I now have 13,16,18,24. I've not yet got any recordings of this kit but it sounds great and is very similar to Bonzo's setup/sound.

I use mainly Sabian Pro cymbals, but I've just got a couple of Paiste 2002 crashes 18" and 20" which are just awesome! I had to get these for my Zep tribute, but I use them with DamageRoom too. These were not used on the DR demos though.

Let me know what you think

Man, that Dennis Chambers style solo is mighty impressive! The recording isn't bad either, although I'd definitely want more attack on the kick and snare, and tame down the cymbals a bit. I hear a dark crash in there that's hogging the mikes, and the ride could use a piece of tape on the underside. (Please bear in mind these are all just humble suggestions--I'm just an amateur recording musician in a basement for pete's sake). The nice thing is, the two most important factors in recording drums are the drums themselves and the guy playing them, and you're not wanting for anything in that department. Great job dude!

Your solo rocks, and your drums sound amazing. I love the sound of MMXs, and most other Masters at that. Just curious though, do you need to do a lot of EQing with the D112?
