junkmanistan, acutally your kinda off with that idea. I actually came here completely oblivious as to the musicial background of the regulars here. some one told me to post this here from another board, so I did, that was the only reason for my post. You jumped the gun on me, I only noticed the musical tastes of most of this board after I posted, which is why I added that second reply, 'cause I noticed a lot of people had viewed it but no one had actually commented on it. I'm usually ok with criticism, believe me. The only reason I had become a little peeved was because some one said what I did wasnt music, ok, 'cause that just rubbed me the wrong way. As for spelling and other typos, meh, on message boards I don't even care if some one corrects me, Fitzgerald gave us all a great excuse to be lazy, didn't he.
As for glass and eno versus the beatles, I agree that most would find the beatles more accessible, but to avid music-philes as myself, Eno and Glass, my current favorite -Polmo Polpo, and such, they just appeal on a more raw emotional level, which I find to be even more easily accessible if you can approach it with an opened mind. One thing I like about this music is that it is language-less, so it's understandability rests entirely on the ability of the composer, musician to convey emotions with out words, which makes it work in any demographic. I admit that those comments might have been kid of elitist in tone, but it was reactionary elitism, in the moment frustration, I wouldn't have really felt the need to bring that up in a regular state of mind.
