Just wanted some input from this community on my band...
Down Home Anthem
The band name is Down Home Anthem and at the minute consists of myself playing guitar and my friend playing bass... We've been playing for a couple of years together and we're definitely looking for a drummer, vocalist and more... We're living in SE houston...
I do the recordings but they are not the best of my ability. I'm hesistant to record leads and other parts that we won't be able to reproduce later, so I'm more interested in pursuing other members... I know I need more bridges and choruses but not sure how to do that necessarily.
I've also found that since I am the primary rhythm instrument, it's much tighter for me to primarily play acoustic, which has definitely changed our style.. Plus its so much easier to record my acoustic which has a direct out on it which sounds pretty good even before adding a mic... I live in an apt complex and dont usually record at volume which has limited my sound quality especially on electric guitar and bass...
I would like to catch more of what we play when we play together and what we play when I play electric, but so far that has usually come out substandard...
I'm using bandcamp to host our first album from last year and to preview some from the upcoming album... We are using facebook but that really only reaches our friends.. Reverbnation seems good for hosting mp3s and for interfacing with facebook... Otherwise I'm at a loss as to how to increase exposure... We used to find random people on myspace that wanted to be friends and would listen, but I don't feel that facebook works as well for people who you don't know (unless they find and add you)...
Any advice from the community is appreciated!!! -Brett
