There's a good few small interfaces out there with 24bit s/pdif, so have a gander and see what's what.

Not only a very solid usb AI but one of very few that can run as a standalone (no PC) analogue to S/PDIF converter. You just need a 9volt PSU with 500mA or more capacity.
