Hay im noob at the home recording stuff. Thanks for helping out. What im looking for is advice on a system to record lyrics at home to be burnt on a cd, that also has ability to remove vocals from tracks. Id be grateful for any advice on general setup specs/brand reccomendations and a cost estimate. Id like to keep it as cheap as possible. Thanks guys, girls. ;)

Removing vocals is tentative at best -- you can never remove all the vocal from a track, and even if you remove a good portion, the effects used on that vocal will remain.

As well, the process involved in partially removing vocals also compromises the sound quality of the remaining track.

If you only want to record vocal tracks for demo purposes/practice/etc... then your best bet is to use the karaoke tracks that have been recorded without vocals in the mix.

Any basic recording s/w package will accomodate that type of requirement.

mmkay so your saying that you dont think remove vocals are worth it? Too just buy karaoke tracks? But can u buy karaoke tracks to all songs, cause i was looking before and couldnt find a place to do it. Do you know a good source? How does any basic recording package accomadate this idea? Thanks for you time. :)

:) Another method is the Behringer Modulizer pro. Its a cheapy, gets most of the non stereo vocal, won't touch the stereo backgrounds though.

:) Ah thanks alot for the brand name thats originally waht i was lookin for. :) Hmm but the karoke tracks sound interesting too for fun. Anybody kno where this could be found, when i search for vocals removed music i usually get alot of just general background music sites instead of radio songs. Maybe get it from the actually record companies? I dunno. :)
