Cheap guitars that play awesome?

A friend of mine bought an old 60's Yamaha Jaguar knockoff from a pawn shop for $100 back when we were in high school. That guitar sounds great. It has a lot of presence. I saw one on ebay for $1300 the other day so I guess they aren't cheap anymore lol.
 
I picked up a Washburn tele knock off for $25. I will say, I was very pleased with the action and the sound. Needs new strings, but I have to say, the price was right.
 
I'm going to be the odd duck here, but I really like Danelectros. I realize they're not for everybody, but somebody has to like them, they keep selling them.

I like them too. I also like Eastwood guitars. Quirky and weird, but they play pretty well and don't break the bank.
 
I love Danelectros but they are way too expensive in Australia at RRP AUS$770 (about US$600) for a basic model.
