Reluctant Commander
Krissy is singing this tune, Wonderlogue. It's about a diaLOGUE with Stevie WONDER....Tony will do a sax solo later, it's played by a guitar solo in this version. This is a pretty rough mix, so let me know what sounds bad and I'll try to tweak it.

WonderLogue

Sonar, Sonik SYnth II, Fender Strat and Bass, Vox thru SM7, Kjaerhus plugs.

The guitar in the opening is very tasty SC, but a little out in front of the drums. That may be right for this genre. The vocals are a bit hot, too. This is a bear of a balance to achieve. For this kind of jazz, I would think that a 20% ducking would do the trick, but I have no idea how that is done.

The vocals phrases are a little stiff, in my opinion. Particularly how a slight pause has to wait for the music to catch up before completing the line.

I would phrase the vocals differently. I would lag behind the music and do a jazzy melody that just catches up at the end of the line.

But, that being said, I suppose there is no right or wrong regarding composition. Everyone fills in the blanks in their own way.

The playing is very smooth and shows a lot of feeling and expression. Quite a contrast from the Krissy's mechanical delivery of the lines. I know that's how you wrote it for her to sing, but it feels like she is holding back.

This composition is amazing , love the melody/harmony lines:cool:

Singer has a beatifull voice;
lowering the vox will be good for the overall balance.Guitar lines (and tone) are excellent; I´d like to hear the drums with less ambience, I think it could be great for the stage and would give more space to (who knows...)even some new elements (percussion/keyboards) - matter of taste, sure.

Yeah less room on the drums and drop the vox into the mix.

The melody just seems to do the same thing over and over. After 2 minutes I felt like I'd been listening for 5. Throw some changes or "stuff" in there to break the monotony a little. Personally, I think a sax solo would be awful. I like the guitar part, or if you have to use a horn, a muted trumpet would be cool there. Just my 2 cents.
