I wonder if amp modeling with say A guitar port, or guitar rig may "color" the sound of older strings that may need to obviously be changed if the guitar were played through A Fender Deluxe or other clean sounding tube amp.
In other words, can these type programs hide older, worn strings' dead tone?
Anybody have an opinion?

Nope.

Nothing can replace the sound of the new strings, it has to do with their elasticity or something.

Well, since the modeler probably sounds shitty, people won't notice the sound of your old dead strings as much...It's sort of like hanging out with people uglier than you to pick up girls.

Keep your strings fresh. New strings is like having a new guitar. I'm always amazed how it sounds when new strings are on.
