changing string gauge

hi. i have an epiphone g-310 sg that came set up for use in standard tuning with .10-.46 gauge strings. i now use drop c tuning and got heavier string gauge, .10-.52, but i have not taken my guitar to be set up for this tuning. my question is, will NOT having the guitar set up for this tuning and string gauge damage the neck or any part of the guitar such as the truss rod?

It is very unlikely to damage anything (never say never), but it will be harder to play, will not play in tune, and will not sound it's best. Setups are realitively cheap, and are very important in getting everything possible out of your guitar.

i cant see and damage being done ever. but a set up isnt a bad idea for intonation and tuning.

Like I said, it is very unlikely. Let's put it this way, in over 2000 guitars a year, for over 30 years, we have never seen any damage done from not have a guitar setup properly.
