I spent about $200 for a fairly decent cloth office chair with adjustable lumbar support. I chose cloth because it does not make the squeaks that leather does (which a mic could pick up). Cloth is not subject to the hot & cold like leather can be.

Plus, when you fart in it - it won't be as loud!

I'm going to get a Lazy-Boy, and mount my speakers on each side of the chair, so I can lay back and listen to mixes.... and maybe mount a few buttkickers or a sub inside the chair. :D

I was thinking about something closer to the following design:

Hey, that works for me! it looks like a Giant toilet, with a "Snow sliding disc(like a sled)" to put your feet in.

Man, if I could find a studio chair that could double as a toilet, I could turn my 6 hour sessions into 10 hour sessions. Hey, if I could then convert a fridge into a rack (just using enough of the fridge to keep my beer cold) - I would never have to leave the studio! :D

I have an Aeron chair at the office and I hate it. I can't get it to properly recline and be comfortable, no matter how I adjust its 400 settings.
Hey MS, did you try the chair out before you bought it? I'm just asking because I'm wondering if the Aeron is one of those chairs that feels good for those few minutes you're trying it out in the store but then isn't comfortable for long-term, real-world use. (Hope not, 'cause I recently ordered one and it's busting my bank account.) Also, they come in three sizes. Are you sure you got the right size?

This link's not working for me. Takes me to their SEARCH page.

My companion likes one of the ones with arms and thinks it would be better for my back, but the arms were uncomfortable for me, they pushed up on my shoulders in an un-natural manner.

My companion and I went to Office Dpot yesterday and got this chair:
I know this thread is freakin old but...
Does all this "companion" talk remind anyone else of Mr. Show, or is it just me? Something about 2 young people and their companions being lost in the woods or whatever? "This ribbon is for the young people, to show we care; and this ribbon is for the companions......"
I'm sure no one knows what I'm talking about, but trust me it is pretty funny. :D

On topic: I use some cheapy $30 rolly office chair. No arms, no headrest, no recline. One of these days I will get fed up and get something that can recline. So hard to find one I like...I'm paranoid about high-back chairs reflecting too much sound, and I hate chairs where you have to push and hold yourself back in order to recline.
