ever had your cell phone laying near your monitors? then somebody calls or texts you?

well, your speakers start going crazy with this clicking noise - before the phone rings..like the signal being sent! haha.

kinda cool

but, my question is: is it BAD? haha. or just annoying?

Mostly, it's just annoying - BUT keep in mind that the signal is being sent through more than just your monitors - I've had it wind up on several recordings...

I rarely noticed this problem until I got my 'new' phone. Man, this thing interferes with everything from the radio in my car to the distance-education system in one of my classrooms.

In conclusion: I have no idea if it's bad or not, but it's extremely annoying, and I wish my phone would just die already.

My celly does some weird shit also.
I get noise thru the monitors when its ringing.
I had it on top of my crate black voodoo head at practice on night, (ring ring)my amp started freaking out with all kinds of noise.
If i call the guy above me on my cell while hes playing "game cube" his tv goes all fuzzy. strange.

This don't only happen with 'cell' phones (we call them Mobile Phones in Australia). I also have it happen with our cordless phone at home.. can be quite annoying.

Anybody ever have one of those lil things that block cell signal within a certin range for tracking w/ the client so nobodys cell goes off while recording?

My brother has a Nextel, and it gives me a fluttering sound in this room. He's in the room over...
That's how I know when he's on the phone. :p

It is illegal to record while using a cell phone in NYS, err is that while driving? At any rate, those signals are not only going through your equipment but they're also going through 'your' equipment. Until they figure out a way to prevent them from causing cancer, I'm sticking to ma bell's old phones.

Yeah my nextel does the same thing. Just be cautious while tracking, the interferrance will be captured on tape, especially near mics and mic cables.

Yah cells do weird crap.

I use it to my advantage during band practice though. Put the phone on a guitar speaker so you can actually hear when someone calls.
