Hi!

I'm working on a project for a client and I'm trying to get a track to sound like a cell phone. I'm not entirely sure how to do that. I'm working on Pro Tools 8. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

Super super super simple. Use an EQ plug in, and make the curve look like this:

Like you were listening to it through a cell phone?

If it's an iPhone, use the track mute button. ;)

or you can actually play the part through a cell phone, then record it from the receiving cell phone.

heh - yes - just pick a random spot in your DAW arrangement screen and delete everything to the right of it.

I have a speaker phone on my cordless and tried recording last week with very nice results. I'll be using this on a new song the band is working on.

Don't forget..you also need some car/road noise for the cell phone effect to be accurate...even some horns honking (telling you you to move out of the left lane if you're going to drive-n-talk!). ;)

amp simulator - small speaker - cut bass and mids.

ps: phunny iphone joke.

Or you could just use the paper roll on the inside of a paper towel roll to talk/sing into a good microphone then use prepossessing to taste.
