I had planned on following the specs on the sae site for ceilings, basically, joists with insulation, then resilient bars, then a sandwhich of 2 layers of plasterboard but should I do it a different way simillar to the "john sayers" wall? (How I'm doing my walls)
The above layer is apparently for adding isolation to the existing ceiling, where as I am building an additional ceiling...
Seeing as how I have a regular ceiling, then an air gap, then another ceiling, would it be more effective to run resilient bars on the outer ceiling frame, a layer of plasterboard, then an air gap and insulation, then the interior ceiling frame with drywall? This is more like how I am doing my walls. There's a picture attached.
