CDR file formats question.

Ok, I was reading through the manual for Adaptec CD creator, and it says that most tracks on cds are .cda files. Now, I have all my songs saved as .wav files. When I create this cd, am I going to have to convert the .wav files in any way for them to be playable on regular cd players?

Adaptec takes care of this for you. Just select Audio CD creation from the opening wizard dialog box and then drag and drop .wav files from your hard drive into the track listing window. Save this listing as a .cl3 file using the File/Save As command and then use the File/Create CD command. It's also a good idea to use their playback function to monitor the whole listing, before you create the CD. This is the "play" icon on the toolbar that is active whenever something (or everything; Edit/Select All) in the track listing window is selected.

It depends on what you want to do with the .mp3s.
You can burn them to a CD as-is using a data CD format,
or you can convert them to .wav files and burn them as an ordinary audio CD.
OR: you can make a DAM CD which has both.

I had seen those at mp3.com. Is that all they are? Just cds with additional mp3 versions of the song? Seems sort of extranious...don't you think?

Those DAM CDs claim to have additional content in .mp3 format, not just .mp3 versions of the songs; I've never tried one.
