Converted MP3 files to Wav files using MP3 to Wav from Acoustica. The cd's will play on the computer but will not play on anyother cd player. Any Ideas?

Thanks

Scarab,

what kind of cd's are you using? some cd players can't play cd-rw's. if that's the case, you'd probably have more luck using a regular cd-r disc. also, burning at a slower speed could help, 1x or 2x.

hope this helps,

Two other things....

Are you making "audio" CD's or "data" CD's?

Also, are you finalizing the disk?

Data CD's will not play on a regular CD player, and if you don't finalize the CD, usually computer CD drives will still read it, but regular CD players won't.

micmac has the other idea that I had too.

Oh, the only other possible one I can think of is that some older CD players will not play CDR's. This is a rare case though. Also, there are still a few not so old portable CD players that will not play CDR's.

Check all that out. I am sure one of them is the culprit here!

Good Day!

Heres a twist

Thanks for the info guys.

CD's will not play on a CD/DVD player or a stero cd player. But when I inserted it in the CD player in my truck it worked.

I believe I am using a CD-R disk. My cd recorder is an older version from Gateway.... '97 vintage. I am using Corel CD creator and I am making audio CD's.

Interesting huh? Any other ideas?

Thanks

Many current DVD players...

...with the exception of certain Hitachi and Pioneer models, will NOT play CD-Rs or CD-RWs......

I know, a few months ago I went searching for a DVD player with the intention that it also replace my CD Player in the listening room -- no luck, doesn't exist......... The Pioneer model is not available in Canada and I hated the Hitachi model (audio latency problem on the DVD), so I had to buy both a new CD player (to handle the CD-Rs - my older player could not!) and a DVD player... (went with a Panasonic model, in case it matters!)

Scarab,

if it works in your truck, i say it's a hardware (the CD/DVD-player and the stereo) problem. you're probably not doing anything wrong. my new CD/DVD-player even does cd-rw's, but my old one would just chew for a while and then spit it out. when i went shopping for the new one two months ago, i noticed there are still a bunch of newer players that can't handle cd-r/rw. my friend had the same problem with her stereo until she bought a new one.
