Help! I'm trying to copy a cd to my computer in MP3 format, but I can't get it to work. I've downloaded several of those free wav to mp3 encoders. When open them and go to browse the CD in my CD Rom they do not show any of the files in them. But when I go to Windows Explorer and open the CD they are there. I've even tried to do this with other CDs and nothing works.

Someone give me a step by step how to and a link to a good wav-mp3 encoder program.

Thanks

Is the CD you are working with an audio CD?

If so, you need to rip the audio files to wave files before you can encode to .mp3. (Although some ripping programs will you to rip directly to the .mp3 format.)

In either case, if it's an audio CD, you need to "rip" the music from it first.

Here's a link to a real good ripping program:

If I recall, the program has a great price, too (free).

Don't forget "dBpowerAMP" . It also uses the "Lame" encoder.
